It only makes sense that Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure would receive a number of video game adaptations considering the sheer popularity of both the original manga series and anime. Although the Capcom-developed arcade fighting game released in 1998 probably still stands as the best of these adaptations, the more recent Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle still has its merits — at least from an aesthetic standpoint. As a fighting game, it feels far too clunky and unwieldy. But as a piece of fan service, it mostly succeeds. Fortunately for Jojo fans who missed out on this game when it came out, Bandai Namco just announced an updated rerelease of the title, dubbed Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R, during today’s PlayStation State of Play presentation.
According to Bandai Namco’s official website, All Star Battle R serves as “the biggest game ever in the franchise.” Whereas the original release capped out at 41 playable charac...
Fans have been looking forward to Forspoken since it was first revealed in 2020. From what we have seen so far, the gameplay and environment looks quite impressive. Recently, Square Enix announced that the game has been delayed and it will now release on October 11. Although this is a five-month delay, fans have not been completely left in the dark. During the PlayStation State of Play showcase, a new Forspoken trailer made an appearance. It focuses on some enemies you will encounter and highlights more of Frey’s explosive magic.
The latest trailer begins with a shot of the beautiful world of Athia. However, this quickly changes as beneath the beauty lies some dangerous creatures that you will encounter on your journey. We see a dangerous dragon and enemies known as Gigas, adorned with an orange glow.
Luckily, Frey wields a range of powers that can be used to fight against these creatures. We see some of the abilities that you can learn as you progress through the game....
Square Enix turned up to tonight's PlayStation State of Play with two games to show off, neither of which had the words "Final Fantasy" in the title.
The DioField Chronicle is a new tactics game coming to PS4 and PS5 this year, as well as PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It's set in the new realm of Alletain, and looks very nice indeed.
The PlayStation State of Play is finished! In case you missed it, here's everything announced during the broadcast, including all the trailers.
(Unfortunately we didn't see the likes of Final Fantasy 16, the next entry in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, nor Street Fighter 6 - perhaps I was the only person holding out hope for that last one!)
Developer Housemarque's moody PlayStation 5-exclusive sci-fi shooter Returnal is returnaling later this month with a big new update for all players.
Ascension, as the free update is officially known, got its unveiling as part of tonight's PlayStation State of Play livestream, but significantly more information has now arrived in a new PlayStation Blog post. The headline, though, is that the update - significant enough to warrant boosting its version number up to 3.0 - will bring campaign co-op and a new survival mode.
Capcom is developing a new game where you fight dinosaurs while wearing mech suits. It's called Exoprimal, not Dino Crisis, and will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
The game - dubbed a new IP - was revealed during tonight's PlayStation State of Play broadcast.
