Rockstar has just dropped a load of new details regarding the PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto V — and you can read all about them by clicking this link. But there's still one important question that Rockstar hasn't properly answered: will there be any kind of upgrade path for PS4 players?
There's no mention of pricing or free upgrades in any of the material that Rockstar has sent over, so we're assuming that there probably won't be an upgrade path for GTA5 PS4 owners to follow.
Grand Theft Auto V — and GTA Online, which will be available separately — are making the leap to PlayStation 5 a little later this month. Rockstar Games has finally given us a few details on what to expect, and it seems as though the studio has added plenty of bells and whistles.
The PS5 version of the ever-popular sandbox will feature three visual modes. You'll be able to choose from Fidelity Mode (4K with ray tracing, 30 frames-per-second), Performance Mode (upscaled 4K, 60 frames-per-second), and Performance RT (upscaled 4K with ray tracing, targeting 60 frames-per-second). On the topic of visuals, this new version will apparently benefit from all kinds of enhancements and improvements, such as a more densely populated open world, improved lighting, explosions, and more.
‘80s synthwave and neon pinks and blue go hand-in-hand. A timeless combination that will continue to be used together a long way into the future. Add to this some weapon-based mechanics and you’ve almost got yourself a videogame. Add to all this a shield to reflect bullets and bounce off otherwise deadly obstacles and you’ve got yourself a game that comes out today. Gunborg: Dark Matters is out now on the Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
For many young kids, a megastar like Ryan needs no introduction. One of the highest paid YouTube stars of all-time, he is a pretty big deal. This isn’t even his first foray into the world of Xbox; 2019’s Race with Ryan saw him and his imaginary friends take on the world of kart racing. This time around, he is focussed on platforming. Team up in Ryan’s Rescue Squad available now on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch.
As is so often the case with games these days, when Gran Turismo 7 hits the starting line tomorrow, the content included will merely reflect the release’s first lap. We’ve already pointed out in our Gran Turismo 7 PS5 review that this is the biggest, most personal simulation racer from Polyphony Digital to date – but it’ll spend the foreseeable future adding even more content to the title.
Teasing just that on its official website, the legendary Japanese developer posted a list of the things you can expect, which includes cars and courses, of course – and plenty more:
Gran Turismo 7 releases tomorrow, 4th March, for PlayStation 5 and PS4, and the one-word descriptor for the game is "passion". As noted in our Gran Turismo 7 review, Polyphony Digital's love of automobiles and the culture surrounding them is palpable throughout the experience, and it all kicks off with an opening movie of epic proportions.
Sony has uploaded this eight-minute montage to YouTube for all to see, and it sure is something. Featuring real-world footage and eventually transitioning to gameplay, the movie takes us through major events in humanity's history since the introduction of cars, highlighting things like the Titanic disaster and the moon landing — between footage of the rising popularity of racing, of course. It's an indulgent and melodramatic introduction to the game, and it's hard to not love it.
Wow, it's not often that you see offline games get significant updates over a year after their launch, but that's what's happening with Haven. The interesting indie title released in December 2020 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It's a pretty unique game, following the somewhat sci-fi story of Yu and Kay — a romantically entwined couple who have fled to a strange planet together.
The title's all about breezy exploration, visual novel-style dialogue, and turn based battles. A weird blend, you might think, but it works well — as noted in our Haven review.
It’s important for us all to shoulder the burden of climate change, and the agricultural industry is no exception. Initiated by farming manufacturer John Deere, and led by EIT Food and the European Union, new technological innovations in farming are helping the industry to reduce their overall impact on the planet. And you’ll be able to explore these yourself, as part of a free Precision Farming update for Farming Simulator 22 on the PlayStation 5 and PS4.
“The DLC will add crop sensors and variable seeding and drilling, variable weed control, as well as the variable rate application of organic fertilizer,” developer Giants Software explained. “The new environmental score helps players to increase the sustainability of farms and the yield of crops by choosing smart technology made available with the DLC.”
