In a thrilling encounter, Team Aster outplayed Piggy Killers, clinching a resounding victory in their latest Division I match. SumaiL’s exceptional gameplay proved instrumental in securing the victory, underscoring his unrivaled talents and versatility. After the match, SumaiL talked about his move to Chinese Dota. The International 2015 gold medalist is particularly delighted to play in front of the crowd again as the current DPC season in China is a live audience LAN event.

“It’s always more fun to play on stage. We have a crowd, too, around 100 people or something. So it’s actually nice to get to play in front of the audience right off the bat. It’s way better than playing in a room, for sure.”

SumaiL Could Have Joined Aster Earlier

SumaiL also mentioned that there was a chance for him to join the team before The International 10. He emphasized the positive chemistry he had with the team and its players, which played a big role in his decision to transfer.

“During COVID-19, before TI10, there were propositions to potentially join them, but I stood in for Liquid, and then OG popped up, so it didn’t happen back then. But there was this talk two years ago. And then, standing in at the Major, we kinda clicked, actually. I didn’t expect it. I mean, obviously, I expected it not to be awful. People overestimate this language stuff. And the chemistry was insanely good. We just decided, why not continue?”

SumaiL On Team Aster’s Drafting And Relationship With BoBoKa

During another segment of the interview, the midlaner talked about Aster’s drafting tactics. He revealed that he prefers minimal communication during this phase.

“Usually, Mad (assistant coach for Team Aster) does drafting. I don’t know if he talks with the team, but as far as I can tell, he does it on his own. I suggest my heroes most of the items and bans if I see a really good one. Also, when I see a hero perfect for my team. Otherwise, I stay quiet and let them do their stuff, which I think is pretty good, to be honest.”

SumaiL, moreover, touched upon the playful camaraderie he enjoys with his new teammate Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao.

“Yeah, I just talk to him. I don’t even know if he understands me but it’s a good relationship. He always laughs at everything, if I’m praising or flaming him, it doesn’t matter, it’s good chemistry.”

SumaiL vs Somnus

At a particular moment, SumaiL revealed which player he is looking forward to playing against in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) China 2023.

“It has to be Maybe (referring to Somnus). We have a long history. I think we are playing each other for nine years now. And laning stage is always fun against him because he never really fell off his laning.”

SumaiL won the first battle between him and Somnus as Team Aster cruised to an effortless 2-0 series win against Azure Ray.
