Stripe Is Now Live in Thailand

Date:

Stripe, a global financial infrastructure platform for businesses, has officially launched in Thailand, enabling businesses to accept payments via PromptPay along with major credit cards like Visa and Mastercard.

These businesses will now have access to Stripe’s solutions such as billing for subscriptions and recurring payments, checkout and payment links for e-commerce, invoicing for automated payment collection and reconciliation, and more.

According to Stripe, thousands of companies have signed up on its platform over the past 12 months.

This has enabled it to work with many of these users during this beta phase to gather feedback and refine solutions to meet the specific needs of Thai businesses.

The company seems to be doubling down on its investments in Asia Pacific, where it is available in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and now Thailand.

Stripe now supports nearly 50 countries globally.

Tee Chayakul, Country Director, Stripe Thailand said,

“Thailand’s digital economy is one of the fastest growing in Southeast Asia. Its accelerated adoption of digital payments has helped many businesses navigate the pandemic and set the foundation for economic growth. However, moving money on the internet remains incredibly complicated and cumbersome.

We want to remove these barriers with financial infrastructure that helps ambitious businesses increase their revenue, automate low-value tasks, as well as expand internationally—and manage all this easily from a single Stripe dashboard.”
