I know there’s not many co-op fans on TL (or at least not many who post), but I’m glad they’re putting such a huge content patch out for co-op mode. Now, crossing my fingers for the rumored War3 hero leaks to be real
leaks? :O do tell

Oh wow. That could pull A LOT of casuals. That would be cool.

This is a hell of a lot of co-op content. I assume that when you level up a prestige, you can use it anytime from then on?
Yeah.
The 5.0 / editor stuff should be impactful for other stuff too, even ranked multiplayer, but a lot of that has been discussed already in the editor thread. The stuff that they’ve improved in the engine is interesting

cool to see them supporting co-op so much. i think people often forget that such a huge number of the remaining sc2 players are people who put time into that mode. even tho i generally only play ranked, i actually played around with co op a bit and it’s a good way to pass 10-20 minutes if you need to do something else soon but dont wanna risk losing a ranked game or something. no stress, and enjoyable overall – if you haven’t try getting a character to lvl 15 and have fun with it
AFAIK Coop is the most played game mode in all of SC2 for a couple of years now. So it just makes sense. It s also way more casual and beginner friendly. I played it quite a lot with my brother, when I introduced him to SC2.

Casuals aren t interested by violence, you can’t bear a game if your army disappear in 2 seconds and for god sake, long games are very compatible with Esport at the moment you reduce BO5 to BO3 and so on (playing BO1)… The game has to be reworked to keep the pro scene alive because the base quality players is decreasing : definetly commintment in fights are too fast and in a certain way, it s easy to do :
reduce game speed in fast (instead of very fast) while decreasing timers for buildings, upgrades and spells.
I m even not sure a match will be longer if so.

I always thought that 1v1 is the real game, and the rest is some kind of gimmick.

A lot of people play co op, but you shouldnt say its the most popular mode if you dont have numbers and as far as I know there just are not any on that mode. On june 17th there were 300k ranked 1v1 games played that day, and thats just the 1v1 section (rankedftw) so it wouldnt be surprising if versus is the most popular mode. But adding new content for co-op for sure is healthy for the game overall caters to another audience as well

They said it was the most popular mode during an interview a few years back. It was during blizzcon, I’m sure someone can find it.

Countdown to Start Timer
In Versus games, a short countdown timer will now count down to the beginning of the game after all players have loaded.
I’ll be damned, it’s finally here.

Don’t major version bumps usually come with a UI update?

it pains me to see we’re transitioning to a new patch cycle with no major changes to the game
The Balance and meta are both better than they ve been forever.
Balance is obviously not 100% perfect, but close enough to not just change something for the Sake of changing I think
