The founder of SpaceX, Elon Musk, says they plan to send an actual bitcoin dogecoin to the actual moon.

“SpaceX is going to put a literal Dogecoin on the literal moon,” Musk said with dogecoin’s price jumping by 15%.

That makes it the 18th biggest crypto with a market cap of $8 billion and significant volumes of about $4 billion.

It’s a bit unclear currently whether this is an Aprils fool, in which case it comes far behind the Dogecoin No Longer Worth 1 Doge joke at the then very bottom of the market.

But Musk could well be serious as it wouldn’t really cost him too much to send a dogecoin or bitcoin to the moon or Mars (once he gets there).

He once sent a Tesla to space, so by comparison the dogecoin can be just a piece of paper with a sealed private key thrown to the moon somewhere with fingers crossed it doesn’t fly to space and get lost in the big massive universe.

Then a century later we may get expeditions for what then may be worth a lot as myths develop of gold chests dogecoin bitcoin treasures found somewhere at the frontier.

Maybe they’ll even claim the all powerful and rich Digerati hid these digital gold treasures precisely so their great great grandsons can go and live the space explorer lifestyle.

Making all this too nice of a tale to be just a joke huh Musky. You has to do eeeet now.
