Shadow Warrior 3: Do You Need to Have Played the Previous Games?

Date:

Shadow Warrior 3 (1)

Being the third modern entry in a long running series, you might be wondering if you need to play Shadow Warrior and Shadow Warrior 2 to enjoy Shadow Warrior 3.

Protagonist Lo Wang is at the heart of all three Shadow Warrior games developed by Flying Wild Hog, and there’s a supporting cast of characters common to them all too. All three games are connected, then, but that’s not to say that you absolutely need to play Shadow Warrior and Shadow Warrior 2 to enjoy Shadow Warrior 3.

Those who have played previous Shadow Warrior games will be familiar with some of Shadow Warrior 3‘s characters, and perhaps get more out of the story. There is a brief recap of the events so far at the beginning of the game, however, so newcomers will have some idea of what’s going on. And besides, the focus here is on the action.

Lo Wang is a wise-cracking ninja, who slices his enemies and fills them with lead while delivering witty one-liners. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, you’ll love Shadow Warrior 3 even if you’re not all that familiar with its world. Though we have to say that both Shadow Warrior and Shadow Warrior 2 are great games, so if you like the look of Shadow Warrior 3, you should probably give them a try too.
