Are you ready to get serious? If you’re not, someone will be, because Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem has just been announced as a standalone expansion to the long-running series and it’s coming out in just over two weeks. In fact, the Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem release date is set for January 25th. Pretty cool, eh?
Usually when something is announced you have to wait a bit for news and/or something worth talking about besides the fact the game is coming out. Serious Sam has always been a quirky franchise, so it makes sense that we’re not only getting a new Serious Sam announcement in January 2022 but also a full game release as well. Not bad! And it’s only been about a year and a half since the last game, which isn’t that long of a wait at all.
What’s Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem about?
As Serious Sam, players will be making their way through Russia in order to find the traitorous General Brand, who has a bad habit of staying one step ahead of Sam no matter what he does.
Players will be able to travel through five new levels that range from arctic coastlines, desolate forests, abandoned villages, and a chilling ghost town. Desolate forests, abandoned villages, and chilling ghost towns? Yep, sounds like Siberia.
There will be new bosses and foes to fight in the game, as expected. Players will also have new gadgets to play with, such as the experimental crossbow along with new vehicles in the snowmobile and towering mechs. There are also new characters and outcasts that Sam will bump into during the course of the game, with lots of mysteries to find and discover. As they’re mysteries they don’t want to be found, so be sure to keep your head on a swivel as you shoot your way through Russia.
Also, if you already own Serious Sam 4 you’ll receive a “sizable discount” on either a preorder or a post-launch purchase, so be sure to check that out if you’re up for some more mass killing.
