See Madden NFL 21’s New Features In This “Deep Dive” Gameplay Video

Date:

EA Sports has released a “deep dive” video for Madden NFL 21, showcasing some of the new features coming to this year’s professional football game.

In the video, EA speaks about a number of updates, including a new system that gives pass-rushers more control off the line. As you can see in the video, players will have more options and control to help bring down the quarterback. Another new feature is more skill stick controls for ball carriers. Specifically, two new animations have been added–the side hurdle and the dead leg. These can be combined together to help you play with flair and creativity.

Madden NFL 21 will also feature more realistic open-field tackling. In past games, it was too easy to miss a tackle, but defenders are now better prepared to bring down an oncoming player. You will still need to time your tackle successfully, and your odds might still be bad if the other player is more highly rated and skilled.

EA has also introduced new animations for the quarterback when he’s throwing under pressure. The animations will now be based on things like the position of the arm and other elements. Finally, Madden NFL 21 will have expanded celebration options, so you can choose how to taunt your opponent after a big play.

Check out the video above to see these new Madden NFL 21 features in action.

Madden NFL 21 launches on August 28 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but you can play it three days early on EA Access. Additionally, everyone who buys Madden NFL 21 on PS4 or Xbox One can redeem a free upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X until the release of Madden NFL 22 in 2021.
