Protecting IPs with blockchain
“We want to tackle IP protection… and do it in a way that we can service people who don’t know anything about crypto or people who have crypto,” the CEO said, referring to the group’s “high level of vision.”
According to Khandelwal, UREEQA has clearly identified blockchain for staking a claim for minting non-fungible tokens (NFTs) — a cryptocurrency token that is indivisible and unique — to represent someone’s rights for their creative work.
The NFTs that represent ownership of creative work can be monetized in the UREEQA marketplace, Khandelwal said.
UREEQA’s integrative solution, he explained, is hinged on building systems to substantiate and verify records as a public, immutable record on a blockchain within minutes.
Khandelwal said that with UREEQA, anyone can pay a small amount to stake their claim and protect their creative works, like eBooks, videos, music, art, source code, and many other creations.
As the platform matures, the CEO said UREEQA will grow into other forms of work like trademarks, patents, industrial design, to name a few.
“Since creators are often too busy creating to enforce their rights, we handle that too,” Khandelwal assured.
