Samsung has expanded its Privileged Health Software Development Kit (SDK) program to give users more preventative health tools through partnerships with various healthcare platforms.

By combining sensor data from the Galaxy Watch with specialised platforms, Samsung believes users can better understand and manage their health.

“Under our openness philosophy, Samsung aims to build an integrated digital healthcare ecosystem with industry partners,” said Hon Pak, VP of Samsung’s Digital Health Team.

“We hope to provide comprehensive health management solutions so users can easily monitor their wellbeing from home.”

The program allows for more connected remote patient monitoring. Doctors can view real-time patient data from the Galaxy Watch, get alerts about irregularities, and make timely decisions about treatment and emergency response.

Biofourmis uses the Galaxy Watch data to deliver personalised care to thousands of patients monthly through its dashboard. Kencor Health also uses the biometric data specifically to predict hyperkalemia in kidney disease patients.  

For heart patients, Medical AI’s ECG software leverages the Galaxy Watch to detect arrhythmia and provide prompt alerts. Women’s health platform Oova combines Galaxy Watch biometrics with hormone tracking for guidance through fertility cycles and perimenopause.

The Galaxy Watch also enables at-home therapy through extended reality (XR). Virtual clinic XRHealth uses the watch to monitor heart rate during physical and mental health exercises, vibrating when target ranges are reached. Healium turns heart rate data into visual stories to help users intuitively understand their stress levels.

Additionally, Samsung partners like 3Boon1 are creating smart mattresses integrated with the Galaxy Watch to optimise sleep. Sensors monitor sleep stages and vital signs, allowing the AI algorithm to automatically adjust mattress temperature throughout the night for uninterrupted, quality rest.

Through ongoing partnerships to translate innovations into real-world solutions, Samsung aims to expand convenient access to personalised healthcare and give individuals more control over their holistic wellbeing.
