How To Solve The People Issues Hindering The Cannabis Industry is a 12-page deep dive into the industry designed to address the widespread trends that hurt cannabis businesses of all sizes and provide strong recommendations on how to resolve or prevent them.
The paper covers such problems as:
Poor leadership and management practices
Lack of focus on building culture within the company
Weak human resources and onboarding processes
Endangering employees and consumers
Inadequate customer service that comes from a lack of training
Costly compliance mistakes
Regulatory frameworks and cannabis taxes creating undue pressure on cannabis operators and teams
Take a look around the emerging cannabis industry, and it’s clear most operators are facing growing pains and challenges that only the most well-run businesses are surviving.
And while the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted current and upcoming cannabis markets in different ways, these universal challenges and lessoned-learned are more relevant than ever.
From a business development perspective, the high turnover rate in this industry is one of the most obvious red flags. In June 2018, cannabis analytics firm Headset reported that 58% of dispensary workers did not make it past their first two months, and 40% didn’t even reach one month.
What’s the story there? How can any business thrive when more than half of new hires don’t make it past their first two months? And more importantly, how many other types of cannabis businesses are struggling with these painful people issues?
Before the pandemic hit, Green Flower launched an investigation, engaging with hundreds of cannabis employees from across the industry, inviting them to share their stories.
Unfortunately, our concerns were validated as we received hundreds of toxic workplace stories, truly heartbreaking reports of disconcerting behavior from across the industry. Tales of abuse, harassment, dishonesty, nepotism, and potentially fatal safety hazards – all of it amounting to a common attitude of treating people like disposable resources (and businesses struggling mightily as a result).
The further we dug into our research, the more we understood the high turnover, the downsizing, the poor customer service, the compliance mistakes, the issues with quality assurance, and many other fixable areas of business incompetence hindering the legal cannabis world.
This white paper also shows how a streamlined training solution is an essential component to addressing all of these critical challenges and achieving sustainable, long-term success in cannabis.
As the industry continues to navigate these growing pains and difficult lessons learned, it is Green Flower’s mission to help all cannabis professionals and enterprises achieve success in what could become the world’s greatest industry.

Live Resin – The Cold Cannabis Concentrate
As the cannabis industry gets bigger, new methods come out to extract compounds better, or create stronger concentrates. This is the case with live resin concentrate, the first concentrate to be made using the benefit of well-below-freezing temperatures.
There are so many ways to consume cannabis products, from live resin concentrate to shatter to delta-8 THC. While the first two are generally high in delta-9 THC, delta-8 THC products provide users with an alternate form of THC which causes less anxiety and paranoia, and gives a clear-headed, energetic high. Some might even say this makes it the superior THC. We’ve got really great delta-8 THC deals for you to try this new version of THC, to see if it’s the better THC for you.
What are concentrates?
Cannabis concentrates are all the rage these days, but what does this actually mean? A concentrate is the final product of an extraction process in which specific parts of the plant are distilled down to a condensed level. Concentrates are made to contain the trichomes of the plant, the part that holds cannabinoids and terpenes, (or just the cannabinoids and terpenes from inside), without the rest of the plant material. There are different kinds of concentrates that can be made from cannabis. Most of them are nearly the same except for small differences in texture, strength, and what solvent/extraction method is used. Examples of concentrates are:
- Wax – An extract made by rinsing cannabis with a solvent like butane. It can be as high as 90% THC, and usually has at least 70% THC. Much like the name implies, the consistency is gooey, or syrup-like, and the color is opaque.
- Shatter – Another concentrate made using solvents like butane or another hydrocarbon. (When butane is used, it’s called butane hash oil). The solvent is pushed through a container with the cannabis, where it strips the plant of its compounds like THC and CBD, and then is refined further if necessary. In the end, excess solvent is purged out using a vacuum chamber. The primary difference between shatter and wax, is in the consistency. Shatter is hard and brittle like glass.
How to Clean a Grinder: A Step-by-Step Guide to Cleaning a Weed Grinder
If you have a plastic grinder, go ahead and skip down to the next section titled, “How to Clean a Plastic Weed Grinder.”
If you have a metal or another kind of grinder, stick around for this step.
Once all of the resin has been removed (and stored safely for later use), submerge the parts of the grinder into a container or ziplock bag of isopropyl alcohol. Be sure that all parts are covered by the alcohol.
This step will ensure that all residue has been removed.
You will notice that the liquid in the bag will turn a light brown color. This is just the excess resin floating off the ‘hard to reach’ parts of your grinder, making it cleaner and ready to use again.
If you do not feel comfortable using isopropyl alcohol, you can purchase solutions designed to clean resin.

American Green, Inc.™ (ERBB) Projects $10 Million in Additional Annual Revenue From New Cannabis Operation
PHOENIX, AZ, May 6, 2021 — Today, American Green, Inc. (OTC Pink: ERBB) signed a lease with an option to buy a 35,100 square foot building located in Phoenix, Arizona, and is expected to generate $10 million in annual revenue when fully operational. The additional revenue is approximately 500% more annual revenue than American Green’s current $2 million annual revenue. The new facility will house a state-of-the-art kitchen for the manufacture of premium edible and concentrate cannabis products. Interior design will incorporate a two-tiered layout to maximize revenue as well as square footage.
American Green’s lease starts with an initial 5 years and includes an option for renewal for three more 5-year terms along with an option to purchase the building within 2 years of the lease start date. This is the second cannabis operation for ERBB in its home state of Arizona. The new location is just a few miles from its current “Sweet Virginia” Grow Facility. The new building is zoned commercial A-1 which is the appropriate zone to operate as a Cannabis Grow, subject to approval from the City of Phoenix. American Green intends on employing approximately 35 people for the new development.
David G. Gwyther, American Green’s president said, “Using every square foot of space strategically and efficiently will be a priority for us as we build out the building. We are using conservative estimates of $10 million a year in annual revenue projections for this new project.”
The American Green laboratory will be producing top-tier concentrate offerings within its first year of operation. Medical and recreational users can look forward to what has already been established as the 2nd most desired cannabis product, “Live Resin”, “Diamonds and Sauce”, “Budder”, and “Apple sauce” consistencies. All produced using American Green’s in-house grown selection of cannabis genetics.
As a follow-up to an earlier press release, Chef Dee Russell A.K.A “Edible Dee” and “The Happy Chef” will be instrumental in the design of the kitchen, equipment purchases and American Green’s premium edible and concentrate recipes. American Green will use Gierczyk Inc. for the design-build construction of the new facility.
“As soon as Arizona voters approved recreational cannabis use a few months ago, American Green recognized an amazing opportunity for expansion and retained Gierczyk Inc. and they immediately went to work analyzing buildings and locations throughout the state. We are now in a great position to capitalize on the rapidly growing Arizona recreational and medical cannabis markets. We also plan to make available American Green-brand cannabis and cannabis products across the United States when the US Congress passes legislation allowing us to do so,” said David G. Gwyther, president.
