Raven Software has reached out to Warzone content creators on Twitter to see about fixing up Streamer Mode.

Content creators have had issues with streamer mode since its release in 2020. While it’s meant to protect streamers from unwanted attention in-game and, potentially, stream snipers hunting them live on Verdansk, several have reported it does nothing of the sort. Calls for Streamer Mode to be improved are commonplace within the Warzone streaming circuit.

Now, finally, it appears someone is willing to answer.

The developer initially replied to Joseph “JoeWo” Wohala (@AverageJoeWo) in response to his tweet published on Thursday, May 13, asking for improvements to “the broken ‘Streamer Mode’ in the next upcoming update?” He briefly explained that fixing the mode would “help with the smoothness of a lot of our Warzone Games” and signed the message off with “Thx, a streamer.”

Raven asked JoeWo exactly what changes he had in mind for the mode, adding a similar signature onto their own tweet: “Best, a studio.” They also went on to tag 100 Thieves member Thomas “Tommey” Trewren (@Tommey) in a connected reply.

JoeWo explained that the current format should be flipped so that instead of streamers not being able to see their opponents’ names, it should be the opponents who are unable to see the streamers’ names. Tommey agreed, writing that this would be a way to “negate stream sniping.”

Other suggestions were made by fellow players, as well, with several requesting the mode only be available to registered or “verified” streamers—as to prevent abuse from cheaters.

Raven has yet to respond in full to JoeWo nor Tommey at the time of writing. However, their direct and public contact with the streamers is a good sign. It seems as though Raven is truly committed to helping content creators and keeping themselves accountable to the larger community while doing so.
