Ransomware gang leaks documents of Lockheed Martin, Tesla, and Boeing

Date:

A Ransomware attack that took place on US aerospace manufacturing and design contractor Visser Precision has now led to the leak of some sensitive information related to companies belonging to aerospace, automotive and industrial manufacturing industries.

As the contractor failed to pay heed to the demands of those spreading DopplePaymer Windows Ransomware, the hackers preferred to pilfer the data onto the internet in retaliation.

Cybersecurity Insiders has learned that the hacker’s group has leaked critical info related to Lockheed Martin designing military equipment, which includes the design architecture of antenna and anti-mortar defense system. Other documents such as billing and payment info, data analysis reports, legal paperwork, supplier info, and clientele contacts were also reported to have leaked in the incident.

Highly placed sources report that details related to companies such as Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, Tesla, Boeing, Honeywell, Blue Origin, Sikorsky, Joe Gibbs Racing, the University of Colorado, and the Cardiff School of Engineering were reportedly leaked in the hack.

Lockheed Martin reacted to the news by saying that the company is aware of the situation and will follow all standard response procedures related to potential cyber incidents related to the supply chain.

As Visser Precision officials are busy investigating the incident and so were unable for comments.

The aim of the hackers to leak such sensitive data was to create a scare among their other victims about the consequences of not paying the ransom.

Note- FBI has alerted all companies in this regard stating that paying the ransom is like encouraging cybercrime further. And moreover, it doesn’t guarantee a decryption key from hackers when the ransom is paid.
