Rajasthan government to help women ‘Back to Work’

Date:

A new scheme called ‘Back to Work’ was launched in Rajasthan, which will provide job opportunities, to women in the private sector in the state. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the same during the discussion of the Finance and Appropriation Bill for the State Budget 2021-22.

With this scheme, women who have to quit their jobs due to personal or family constraints will get the opportunity to return to the workforce. The state government aims to provide job opportunities to 15,000 women in the next three years.

Widows, abandoned women, victims of violence, as well as divorcees will be given priority.

Women who may not be able to join the workplace physically will be provided with remote employment opportunities as well.

A single-window system will also be developed at the Directorate of Women’s Empowerment and CSR organisations.

Through the scheme, the state government will also provide skill training through the Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation (RKCL).

A training facility will be specifically dedicated for the purpose of reskilling/ upskilling.

The implementation of the pilot project will see applicants track down jobs on the job portal, according to their preferences, under the target category of ‘women’. A CSR organisation will be responsible for connecting the interested women candidates with their prospective employers.

A monitoring committee will also be constituted for effective implementation of the scheme.
