Rainbow Stags are available in June, July, August, and September in the Northern Hemisphere. As for Southern Hemisphere users, Rainbow Stags are available in December, January, February, and March.

Players can find them on trees during the hours of 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. local time.
These rainbow-colored insects can be sold at Nook’s Cranny for 6,000 Bells. However, if you’re dropping these bugs at Nook’s Cranny’s drop-off box, you will receive 4,800 Bells.
If you’re selling Rainbow Stags to Flick, you can receive 9,000 Bells. Along with Goliath Beetles, and Emperor Butterflies, Rainbow Stags are one of the most expensive bugs in the game during the month of June.
When catching a Rainbow Stag for the first time, players should donate the insect to Blathers. The owl curator will then reveal how the Rainbow Stag enjoys making conflict.
After spotting a Rainbow Stag on a tree, players should approach the insect slowly by pressing A while moving the Joy-con stick. If you try running up to a Rainbow Stag, it will quickly fly away.
