PhD studentships are now available for the Translational Quantum Technology programme.
The doctoral training at the UK National Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology aims to incorporate an industrial engagement component to complement the academic study, by encouraging students to undertake an industrial secondment at an appropriate stage in their studies.
The training programme is 3.5 years long, which includes a 3-6 month secondment within industry. The programme is organised across all of the Quantum Technology Hub’s collaborating Universities within groups. dalail.net These groups will have the opportunity to regularly meet together to discuss and share ideas.
Awarding the
studentships
Ten studentships, following application by supervisors, will be awarded by the Quantum Technology Hub’s Applications and Technology Exploitation Panel (ATEP).
Supervisors are advised to identify industry partners prior to proposing the studentship, and to also ensure that the partner has already pledged to cover the cost of the student’s travel and accommodation for the duration of the secondment. Additional funding support can be negotiated by the hosting institution, as long as the studentships remains compliant with EPSRC’s funding rules.
