Phantom Screens, North America’s leading provider of retractable screens, announces its integration within the TOH 2020 Idea House: The Farmhouse in Fairfield County presented by This Old House. Phantom Screens has contributed motorized screens on the home’s porch to help extend the home’s usable square footage and integrate the indoor/outdoor spaces in Fairfield County, Connecticut. This Old House is an online, television and print media organization dedicated to providing trusted home improvement information and expert advice.

The Farmhouse is the second idea house unveiled this year by the publication and seventh overall. Designed by Jamieson Architects and built by The Greyrock Companies, the 3,700-square-foot home brings a new meaning to the modern farmhouse. The home features numerous luxury amenities both indoors and out, creating a contemporary space that is ideal for entertaining. The unique outdoor living area features a kitchen, plunge pool, fire pit and putting green. Phantom’s motorized retractable screens enclose the patio enabling year-round comfort, temperature control and functionality.

“We are thrilled to be part of this inspired project that really showcases the combination of modern and functional living,” said C. Esther De Wolde, Chief Executive Officer of Phantom Screens. “It’s exciting to see the possibilities that result from the collaboration of leading home technology providers, especially improving homeowner comfort while preserving curb appeal, something we’re very passionate about at Phantom Screens.”

With more people than ever before spending time at home, outdoor living has persistently been at the top of the priority list for homeowners this year. According to a recent report by Fixr, 65% of married couples are likely to invest in an outdoor living area. With a growing desire for functional, aesthetically pleasing and year-round outdoor spaces, solutions such as motorized screens are increasing in popularity.

The TOH 2020 Idea House: The Farmhouse in Fairfield County was unveiled to the public on October 14th, 2020. To see the home’s design and details, please visit thisoldhouse.com/farmhouse2020/.
