PGL Major Stockholm schedule announced

Date:

PGL has announced the schedule for their Stockholm Major, which will play out from October 26 to November 7, feature 24 teams, and have a whopping $2,000,000 prize pool on offer.

Each of the Major stages will take place over four days, with the Challengers and Legends Stages playing out with no audience at the Annexet sports venue, and the Champions Stage heading to the Avicii Arena, where a single-elimination playoff bracket will determine the winner of the first CS:GO Major in over two years.

The sixteen teams taking part in the Challengers and Legends Stages will battle through a Swiss system, which will feature best-of-one matches for the opening and mid matches, and switch to best-of-threes for any qualifying or elimination matches.

The Avicii Arena will play host to the playoffs in front of a live audience

As part of Valve’s plan to reduce the impact of Majors on the tournament calendar and In order to suitably fit the schedule of each stage into four days, two rounds will be played on the first day, and a B stream will be in operation for all but the final three matches of each stage.

The Challengers Stage will feature 8 teams from Europe, 3 from CIS, 2 from North America, and one from each of South America, Oceania, and China, while the Legends Stage will consist of 3 teams from North America, 3 teams from Europe, and two from CIS.

With the final round of RMR events still underway, these are the teams currently guaranteed an attendance in either of the two stages:
