2K and HB Studios looks set to tee off again with a new PGA Tour 2K game for this year. And aside from seeing Tiger Woods sitting on an iron throne made up of golf irons, more details about this year’s golf game have been revealed.

For one, there will now be an option to use a traditional 3-click swing instead of the default analog stick motion. The 3-click swing option was the default option for golf games of the late ’90s and early 2000s, and still is for arcade-style golf games.

However, as outlined in the Clubhouse Report post, the presentation will be different. Rather than a horizontal bar, it’s a circular power meter.

The 3-click swing in PGA Tour 2K23 works as described here:

• first click: hold down A/X button to the desired power
  • time the release as it nears the power circle (exceeding will cause an overpowered shot, let go too early and it’s an underpowered shot)
• second click: a green dot will move counterclockwise from the bottom of the circle.
  • tap button to determine the swing path
• third click: tap button as it reaches the bottom hash marks
  • this determines an open or closed club face

The difficulty setting will change the swing speed of the meter.

In addition, the Clubhouse Report confirms the following players to be exclusive in PGA Tour 2K23:

• Tiger Woods
• Justin Thoma
• Collin Morikawa
• Lexi Thompson

Also, golf enthusiast, Space Jam 1 star, NBA legend and one of the cover stars of NBA 2K23, Michael Jordan, is also part of the roster as DLC.

Players can take control as the pro players unlike PGA Tour 2K21, as well as play against them.

The confirmed new licensed courses in PGA Tour 2K23 that makes up the 20 available on launch are the following:

• Wilmington Country Club
• The Renaissance Club
• St. George’s Golf and Country Club

Also, it’s confirmed that MyCareer more is back where you can start your created character’s golfing career from the Korn Ferry Tour before going up to the leagues of the PGA Tour.

PGA Tour 2K23 will be available on the PS4, PS5, PC (steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on October 14.
