Today, we’re taking a look at Mini Motor Racing X on Oculus Quest and the Rift Platform. We reached out to Binary Mill to get the latest on what it takes to win big on the virtual speedway.
Tip 1
Get Comfy! There are a bunch of different controls schemes and viewpoints to choose from, as well as several comfort options to play with, so be sure to find the combination that works best for you. You want to battle your opponents, not the camera.
Tip 2
Boost early, boost often! Getting ahead of the pack at the early stages of the race can be a massive advantage. You get a clear path to race as well as first dibs on a lot of power-ups, so don’t be shy about slamming that boost button a ton on the first lap.
Tip 3
Vehicle upgrades are essential to keeping pace with the competition, so spend that prize money! You can always ‘respec’ any car, refunding upgrades to get your cash back, which allows you to experiment with new vehicles as they unlock.
Tip 4
It’s a hard knock life! If you’re really struggling, don’t be afraid to adjust the in-game difficulty. Challenge is good, but if you’re not having fun, then what’s the point? Lower the difficulty, and enjoy yourself. As your skills build you can ramp the challenge back up.
Tip 5
Throw a wrench in the works! There is no sweeter joy than taking someone out with a well-timed wrench in Type X mode, so master those angles and start throwing. For maximum style points, use the few seconds of immunity from your own wrench to bounce it off a wall and back through you into a pursuing opponent. Chef’s kiss!
