Oak Hill Capital names Soros veteran Mark Pinho as partner, second senior hire in a month

Date:

Oak Hill Capital has hired former Soros Fund Management managing partner Mark Pinho as a partner to focus on investments in the consumer sector, marking its second senior hire in a month.

Pinho spent 12 years at Soros, where he was managing partner and the principal investment advisor to funds associated with the Soros family. He also worked in the mid-market growth equity and buyout space at BCI Partners and LiveWire Capital prior to Soros.

Pinho co-founded investment platform 4×4 capital in 2018. Oakhill Capital reached a strategic partnership with 4×4 Capital in 2020 under which the duo focused on acquiring businesses with $50 to $200m of EBITDA.

Tyler Wolfram, Managing Partner of Oak Hill Capital, said, “We are delighted to welcome Mark to the Oak Hill team. We have worked with Mark through our relationship with 4×4 Capital and believe he will enhance the firm’s ability to pursue highly-targeted consumer investment opportunities that align with our theme- based origination strategy.

“He has demonstrated outstanding leadership in acquiring, building, and investing in world- class companies. We are looking forward to Mark’s contributions to the firm.”

Credit Suisse veteran Nicole Arnaboldi joined the firm last month as partner.

Oak Hill Capital started the year with a $3.8bn Fund V close in January, surging past its $3bn goal. Fund IV was closed on $2.65bn in 2017.
