NSPCC: Charity single released to uplift children suffering in lockdown

With recent reports revealing that child abuse contacts to NSPCC helpline have risen 43% since the beginning of lockdown last March, budding young musician, Jasmine Eskenzi is partnering with the NSPCC to release a fundraiser song, which is aimed at lifting the spirits of the nation at a time when we could all use a bit of music for the soul.

The song “All you need” is released today and is about empowerment and self-love and its proceeds will be donated to the phenomenal children’s charity, NSPCC. Jasmine has set up a GoFundMe Page with the aim of raising over £10k to support NSPCC’s services and help reduce child abuse in Britain.

“The last 11 months have had a detrimental impact on peoples’ mental health, with many adults and children feeling isolated and completely alone. I am so impressed by the work of the NSPCC and I am delighted to be working with the charity to raise money for children in the UK. Music is therapy for the soul and it can help calm people when they are feeling pressured, depressed or anxious. I just want my listeners to know that while things are hard just now, they will get better very soon,” said Jasmine Eskenzi. “Music has always been used to help people in times of desperate need, in places of worship, to rally the troops to go to war and now at a time where people are losing hope, feeling isolated and have very little in their lives to break up the monotony of the week, music can be a saviour.”

This song resonates with anyone who has ever been rejected, downtrodden or isolated and has found the strength to carry on, pick themselves up and go on loving themselves first and foremost before giving that love back to others. Jasmine has been writing music on a weekly basis since lockdown began last year to help keep all those that she knows positive and happy. After asking people to share their worries and anxieties in lockdown, she turned these into empowering songs to help people feel uplifted and liberated.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Jasmine and raising awareness to help children in the UK. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on young people and many have struggled with social isolation, while others have been put at a much greater risk of abuse. We need to work together to help children and it is vital that their safety and wellbeing is prioritised,” said Sarah Lambley, London supporting fundraising manager at the NSPCC.
