Obviously, we won’t know for some time what the official Madden 23 cover will be. However, a fan took it upon himself to create a cover featuring the late John Madden.
John Madden is responsible for the entire franchise and it’s only right that he’s honored after his passing in December of 2021.

While still unconfirmed, this would line up perfectly with the timing that was chosen with the release of Madden 22.

Exact release dates have varied over the years, but the launch of Madden is always closely tied to the start of the NFL season, and this year they decided to launch Madden 22 a few weeks before the season began.
We can likely expect an early September opening game for the NFL in 2022, and going with another late-August Friday launch makes perfect sense considering they soaked up some NFL preseason hype along with hype as the regular season began.
We should learn about the official release date for Madden 23 in June or July, and it will likely be revealed at the same time as the next cover athlete or athletes.
Reveal Trailer, Platforms, Price, and Editions

Looking ahead to next year, we’re expecting the Madden 23 reveal trailer to arrive on June 16, 2022, and it’ll likely bring lots of other news at the same time.

One big question that remains for Madden 23 is whether EA Sports is ready to move on from the “current gen” of Xbox One and PS4, as the title has released separately on those and next gen PS5 en Xbox-serie X | S platforms for two years now.
The eventual step away from Xbox One en PS4 could be a boon for PC players, as that would likely mean the PC version will get all features unlike the versions missing Dynamic Gameday this year.
For price, we don’t expect things to vary much from last year, so Madden 23 is likely to be just $59.99 for a Standard Edition on PS4 or Xbox One (if released) en $69.99 for a Standard Edition on next gen.
They’ll likely have at least one Deluxe Edition, potentially continuing with the combo of an MVP-editie and Dynasty Edition featuring Early Access and other rewards, likely priced between $99.99 and $119.99.

If a non-QB is where they’re headed, the primary standout stars right now look to be Cooper Kupp or Travis Kelce, both of which would be very strong picks as Madden 23 cover athlete.
