16e conferentie over luchtvaartmanagement - van crisis tot welvaart

The conference, titled “From Crisis to Prosperity”, will bring together industry experts from around the aviation sector. This insightful conference will focus on three main topics; Social impact, Economics and Technology. There will be panel discussions, interviews and presentations throughout this conference, including a focus on interconnecting rail and air transport as well as safety-related topics. There will be strong focus on COVID-19 and its effects on passenger behaviour as well presentations about future-proofing airports and radical changes to urban transportation.

Conferentieschema

The conference will commence by focusing on the social impact of the aviation industry. During this section, there will be two presentations from Melvin Browkaart from Aircommence and Job Brüggen, Safety Officer at Air Traffic Control in the Netherlands. The morning session will conclude with an interview with Pat Boone from CrewLounge, which will discuss the impact of the pandemic on the aviation industry from an airline pilot’s perspective.

There will then be a focus on the economic future of the aviation industry, with presentations from students of the Aviation Management Honours programme, Tim Geraedt, an internal consultant for NS Internationaal, as well as Ligeria Paletti, who will present a thought-provoking presentation on the implementation of a circular economy within the aviation sector. There will also be an interview with Jaap de Wit, a Professor Emeritus of Transport Economics at the University of Amsterdam. He plans to share his views on what a post-COVID-19 aviation industry may look like and why selectivity, innovation and substitution will be key game changers as part of the recovery.

The conference will then host its first panel discussion of the day which will include Ruud Ummels and Tim Geraedt. They will be joined by the Head of Aviation Sustainability at EUROCONTROL, Marylin Bastin, as well as Thiago Nico Daffini, a Marketing Manager from Embraer.

The conference will then resume with its afternoon programme which will commence at 13:00 CET. This final section of the conference will focus on the role of technology and there will be two presentations from Vincent  Steinmetz from Voqx, a company that provides accident investigator courses and safety workshop classes, and Paul Beck from Planeground Airport Consulting.

The conference will then have its final panel discussion which will see Paul Beck joined by Andre Stein from EVE Stedelijke luchtmobiliteit and the discussion will be moderated by Geert Boosten, an Aviation Management Lecturer at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The event will conclude with a final presentation from some of the Aviation Management students who organised the conference and will focus on why aviation need to change today.

The 16th Aviation Management Conference is ideal for anyone who has an interest in the aviation sector. It has been organised and designed by students who want to see the aviation succeed in the future, and will therefore be especially applicable to young aviation professionals.
