A new player-versus-player Tom Clancy title codenamed “BattleCat” was leaked on social media via Twitter this past Sunday, June 6.

The news originally broke through the Zer0Bytes_ (@Zer0Bytes0) Twitter profile on the evening of Monday, June 6. According to them, “BattleCat” is allegedly a mixture of “Splinter Cell x Breakpoint x Divsion.” Development for the game began in January. Zer0Bytes_ originally posted a series of images meant to showcase the game. However, at the time of writing, all such visuals have been scrubbed from the tweet.

According to VGC, BattleCat is currently in its early stages of development and “will not feature at the Ubisoft Forward event set to take place later this week.”

Each character will have their own class and abilities, “such as Echelon’s radar stealth and Wolves’ additional armour,” in addition to an ultimate ability. Players will be able to engage in two modes, Escort and Ringleader, pitting them against each other in both team-based and battle royale content.

Escort mode sorts players into teams with one escorting an important package to a separate location and the other meant to stop them in their tracks. It is unclear how many players will be allowed in each lobby or how many players will be allowed to join each team. Whether or not that information was revealed in the leaked images is unknown.

Ringleader mode is likely Ubisoft’s latest take on the popular battle royale format. Players need to compete against each other and collect rings from the defeated opponents. We can assume that the player with the largest total of rings will be crowned the winner.

Due to the swift takedown of the images on Twitter, we may be able to deduce this leak as credible. However, Ubisoft has yet to confirm or deny a BattleCat IP.
