Insight Partners has helped visual online collaboration specialist Mural to a valuation of more than $2bn through a new investment round.
The $50m round led by Insight and Tiger Global follows a $188m Series B investment round from August last year.
Mural’s software aims to support enterprise teamwork with guided visual collaboration. Its customers include IBM, Microsoft, Facebook, Booz Allen Hamilton, Publicis Sapient, SAP, and Atlassian.
Insight managing director Jeff Lieberman said, “Last year, Insight Partners saw teams transform how they interact and creatively work together through the adoption of digital-first visual collaboration with Mural.
“Now, as organizations shift to a new hybrid way of working, Mural is uniquely positioned to make it easy for teams to ideate and create together from anywhere.
“Our team has been using Mural for our own workshop and board meetings, too. The meetings we run in Mural are much more engaging and fun.”
MURAL said it plans to use the new capital to further platform development to support hybrid and distributed workforces, including new software integrations with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and Atlassian.
Earlier this year it emerged that tech-focused Insight Partners was already prepping a $12bn fundraise, less than a year after hauling in $9.5bn for its last flagship fund.
The firm could begin raising Fund XII as soon as next month according to the Wall Street Journal, which cited unnamed people it said were familiar with the matter.
It added that Insight is also out targeting up to $875m for its first preferred equity fundraise.
Last week Nordic Capital agreed to acquire a majority shareholding in Insight-backed no-code data automation service provider Duco.
