mousesports overpower GODSENT in BLAST Premier Fall Showdown

Date:

Luka “emi” Vuković’s first match leading his new team did not get off the start he would have wanted as mousesports flexed their individual skill to overpower GODSENT on Inferno (16-6) and Train (16-8) and book their spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown quarter-finals.

A blistering 10-2 start by mousesports on Inferno set the tone for the Round of 16 clash, as the Finn “karrigan” Andersen-led side put up dominant showings on both maps to overrun their opponents. The trio of Robin “ropz” Kool, David “frozen” Čerňanský and Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras proved too much for GODSENT, with Chris “chrisJ” de Jong coming alive with the AWP in the closing stages of Train to secure the victory.

mousesports will face the winner of Heroic and Endpoint in the next round

The matchup kicked off on GODSENT’s map pick of Inferno, where chrisJ opened proceedings up with a triple kill on the CT pistol. mousesports continued to rack up rounds moving forward and came to a dominant 9-1 lead off the back of great individual plays. GODSENT eventually added to their tally in the eleventh round but failed to follow up as mousesports hit straight back. Two sharp AWP kills from Asger “Farlig” Jensen opened up B for his side, who recovered from a dreadful start to bring the deficit within five at the midway point.

mousesports replicated their rapid start in the first half with a string of three rounds to extend their advantage to 13-5 on the offence. GODSENT responded with guns in hand to get their only round of the half on the board before ropz briskly closed Inferno out with a 1v2 clutch to complete a 16-6 thrashing.

A revitalised GODSENT came into Train with a point to prove. The duo of Farlig and Pavle “Maden” Bošković dominated their duels in the opening rounds to lock down the bombsites and spearhead their team to a 6-2 lead. However, the CT’s steam began to run low as mousesports won the overwhelming majority of the ensuing rounds to chip away at the deficit and level the score at 7-7. After a lengthy technical pause, karrigan’s troops secured the half thanks to three chrisJ AWP kills for a narrow one-round advantage.

An incredible pistol round from ropz, which included three crisp one taps, kicked off mousesports’ defence, but GODSENT snatched the subsequent round with Deagles. emi‘s squad failed to build on their unlikely success as mousesports pulled ahead with a commanding CT side. A Farlig quad kill wasn’t enough to break the streak as frozen clutched a 1v2 to put his team on series point, with a 16-8 scoreline immediately following.
