MLB The Show 21 Diamond Dynasty May Monthly Awards release today, June 8, and we finally know the special Lightning card for the month.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien is the special card recipient after a ridiculous month. Semien led the American League in batting average at .368, OPS at 1.130 and WAR at 2.3. He also had eight home runs at 22 runs batted in. A worthy winner and a card that many are going to look to add to their lineups as fast as possible.

Monthly Awards programs are some of the best content drops in Diamond Dynasty. San Diego Studios releases multiple cards across a 100 point program. Players earn points through completing missions and moments.
At the end of the program, players are rewarded with a special Lightning card. Last month’s Lightning winner was Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton and he’s been a staple in lineups since. Considering the lack of primary, high-end 2B in the game outside of 99 overall Jackie Robinson, Semien should feature prominently moving forward. Or, until at least other high-end cards are released for the position.
