A Moorhead, Minnesota, man was arrested on June 14 for the alleged possession and intent to distribute marijuana.
John Perryman, 40, faces a count of possessing with the intent to distribute three or more schedule I or II items.
According to court documents, Perryman was pulled over on I-90 for driving 84 mph in the 80 mph zone in Davison County. While discussing the speeding violation, Perryman and his passenger had conflicting stories about their trip. Perryman denied having illegal drugs or weapons in the car when asked, while stating he had a medical marijuana card in Minnesota.
Perryman denied a request from the officer to search his car, but allowed the Police Service Dog (PSD) to conduct an exterior vehicle sniff.
The PSD allegedly indicated an odor of an illegal drug by sitting near the passenger door of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle allegedly found four packages of THC edibles and three butane hash oil cartridges. Inside a shut box in the rear hatch of the vehicle, the officer found 15.84 ounces of raw marijuana, 8 grams of THC shatter, 21 grams of butane hash oil cartridges and 5 grams of THC wax.
Perryman took ownership of the items in the cooler and vape cartridges in the center console, according to court documents….
