Updated Microsoft’s cloud services have a nasty case of Monday-itis.
Reg readers report that Office 365 and Azure Active Directory are both inaccessible at the time of writing. One user told us “Our organisation cannot access any apps requiring Azure AD authentication”. Others told us Office 365 is dead and that even attempts to access its status page produces the following less-than-brilliantly-useful message.

The issue seems to have disrupted the services from just after 9AM Sydney time on June 15th (23:00PM June 14th UTC) and is ongoing at the time we published this story.
However the main Azure status page is, at the time of writing, silent on the matter, offering only a sea of green ticks to indicate all services are operational.
That’s enraged users who know services are down!
We understand the urgency of getting this resolved and thank you for your patience so far. While we currently don’t have an ETA on when this will be resolved, we will be sure to update you as well as the status page as we continue investigating. ^TN

As the conversation above shows, Microsoft is now aware of the mess.
Microsoft365 went down in Australia in November 2019, and did so as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella took to the stage in Sydney to address the faithful. He carried on, presumably blissfully unaware that his audience was cursing his name even as they listened to him speak.

Updated to add at 0110 UTC, June 15
Microsoft’s Office Microsoft 365 status page now says: “We’re investigating a potential token issue that may be preventing users from authenticating to multiple Microsoft 365 services or features.”
Final update at 0255 UTC, June 15
At around 02:00 UTC on the 15th Microsoft said it “redistributed traffic in the affected infrastructure and have confirmed that service has been restored.” The M365 Status page currently reads: “There are currently no known issues preventing you from signing in to your Office 365 service health dashboard.”
