‘MICHU safe in Envy’ – Agent

Date:

On Tuesday, the 23-year-old was reported to be one of the players potentially on the chopping block in Envy. According to DBLTAP, the team was looking to make up to three changes, including the removal of Ryan “ryann” Welsh and at least one of Buğra “Calyx” Arkın and MICHU.

The Pole is however meant to stay in the North American-European lineup, says Kamil Górecki, cofounder of Fantasyexpo. “At the moment, it is not planned to remove Michał from Team Envy, and the potential changes in the team do not apply to him,” Górecki stated to Cybersport.pl. “The information provided yesterday has no justification, and Michał is safe in the team.”

Fantasyexpo denies reports of MICHU’s possible removal from Envy

Retaining at least a three-man core would be of benefit to Envy, who are currently ninth in the North American Regional Major Ranking standings with 1,200 points. Although their qualification for the Major already looks unlikely due to the 1,700-point gap to fifth place, the team would stand no chance should they change three players, resulting in their points being reset.

Fantasyexpo is a Polish agency, which represents various players and talent from the country, including Jarosław “pashaBiceps” Jarząbkowski and Piotr “izak” Skowyrski. MICHU has only recently been added to the list, having been announced as the agency’s new signing on Thursday.

MICHU has been a member of Envy since late January after the Noah “Nifty” Francis-led squad underwent a major overhaul, adding three players and a coach. The Pole has been among the team’s two best performers alongside Calyx, averaging a 1.10 rating in 2020, most notably helping them place fifth at ESL One: Road to Rio ahead of teams such as 100 Thieves, MIBR, and Evil Geniuses.
