Meet Europe’s most exciting space tech startups on 2 March (Sponsored)

Date:

Are you a startup, investor or accelerator interested in spacetech, and how GNSS-based innovations are responding to current and future challenges? Then the virtual EU Space Entrepreneurship Day on Tuesday 2 March, run by the European GNSS Agency (GSA), is the event for you!

Space and the European agenda

Galileo, Europe’s own global navigation satellite system (or GNSS), is driving innovation and supporting new and disruptive technologies in a wide range of sectors. For instance, there are now more than 1.8 billion Galileo-enabled smartphones and more than 51 million GNSS-enabled wearable devices in the market.

Startups have been particularly enthusiastic in embracing the potential offered by the EU Space Programme to develop new GNSS-enabled applications and services. The #MyGalileoDrone and #MyGalileoSolution competitions, organised by the GSA, have been flooded with startup applications, and are now boosting the most innovative Galileo-based solutions.

Get involved on Tues 2 March!

The GSA is hosting a virtual Entrepreneurship Day on Tuesday 2 March to showcase the next-gen Galileo-based solutions across a range of application areas.

At the event, the finalists of the GSA-funded MyGalileoSolution and MyGalileoDrone competitions will pitch in front of investors and venture capitalists, demonstrating novel drone solutions, enhanced human and IoT ideas and innovative mobile applications.

The half-day online event will bring together investors, accelerators, the startup community, tech influencers, GNSS innovators and everybody interested in space. 80 EU startups will share their Galileo-based innovative projects and how they are addressing important societal challenges and supporting the EU strategic agenda.

In particular, teams from MyGalileoDrone are supporting EU priorities like the European Green Deal, Europe’s digital strategy, resilience and recovery, and promoting the European way of life. The MyGalileoSolution ideas also address strategic challenges, such as crisis and emergency response, smart transport, digitalisation and cybersecurity.

The event will culminate with the announcement of the winners of the MyGalileoDrone and MyGalileoSolution competitions. At the online awards ceremony, the six MyGalileoSolution finalists will receive awards ranging from €15K to €60K, while the four MyGalileoDrone finalists will share a prize pot of €230K, with prizes ranging from €30K to €100K.
