Mass Effect’s Schells quest returns in Legendary Edition, and once again players are worried about choosing the right options in order to get the best possible resolution. Here’s how to get the ending you’re looking for.
The Schells quest line can only be started once players have already begun the Citadel: Rita’s Sister side quest. Once they’ve done that, they’ll see Schells being thrown out of Flux the next time they visit. Talking to him will reveal he’s been accused of cheating, when in fact he’s building a device to make it easier for others to cheat.
Taking the quest, you’ll have the chance to play some Quasar games in Flux. You’ll need to win five times to satisfy Schell’s algorithm, but stop short of seven wins or Doran will realize you’re cheating and confiscate both the device and your winnings.
If you’re looking to avoid Renegade activities in the course of the quest, you can approach Doran in the Flux and hand over the device. He’ll give you enough credits to play five rounds with house money. This is the only way to play Paragon through this quest.
Regardless of which path you take, you’ll end the quest by talking to Schells, who will either thank you for helping him or give you an earful for handing over the device.
