Firaxis and 2K’s next game, Marvel’s Midnight Suns made a reappearance again at the Summer Game Fest 2022 stage. The game by the makers of Civilization and XCOM series was supposed to be out early this year before a delay hit, but now it’s back with a release date.
The new cinematic trailer is all about showcasing more Marvel super-heroes and super-villains that will be part of this supernatural strategy RPG. Hey look, it’s Spider-Man, and he’s not a PlayStation-exclusive character! Venom’s here too, and of course he’s in the villain side fighting for Lillith. And wait, is that The Hulk and Scarlet Witch corrupted with the green goo of evil?
All that to the tune of Metallica’s Master Of Puppets, with some of that Marvel orchestraic medley being woved in and out.
In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, you are The Hunter, a player-customisable character and the key in defeating Lillith, the evil armies of Hydra, and also an apocalyptic threat. You will assemble a squad of Marvel super-heroes from members of The Avengers, X-Men, Runaways, and more in order to stop the impending doom.
The turn-based tactical RPG bits will see you assemble a deck for each character as well, and take your time off by hanging out with your fellow heroes at the hideout, The Abbey.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is now targeting to release on October 7 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
