The Lunacian Sports League (LSL) launches its 4th Season, pursuing the storylines brewed from Season 3. LSL S4: Guild Rush powered by BlockchainSpace, will once again challenge 8 of the strongest Guilds to defend their Castles from vicious Raiders.

This Season, some are out to prove their honor, some to remain undefeated, and some are out for revenge.

LSL has been chosen as one of the recipients of the $2.4 million Axie Infinity Esports Grant. Its 4th season raises the stakes with over $80,000 in prize pool across 8 qualifier tournaments and a Season Playoffs, running from October 29 to December 4, 2022.

S4 will be the first LSL season migrating to V3, Axie Infinity Origins. In light of this, this season’s theme features a move from medieval Europe to feudal Japan, represented in new Castles and Map designs, and playing around new Axies with Japanese-inspired parts.

Castles & Raids

The $GUILD Rush format comprises 8 Castles that are targets for attack. Each castle is ruled by a formidable guild, with an appointed Guardian to best anyone who dares to take the castle down.

Raiders compete in an open qualifier to determine the best, worthiest contender. The champion will not only win the qualifier prize pool and proceed to raid the Castle by competing against the Castle Guardian for a chance to steal their loot and bring home the glory.

Ultimately, the qualifier champion will advance to the Season Playoffs regardless of whether he defeats the Castle Guardian.

Castle Guardians are automatically invited to the Playoffs. If a Castle Guardian defeats the qualifier champion, he wins the loot for himself and his Castle is successfully defended.

A total of 8 Raids will take place on Saturdays and Sundays starting on October 29 to November 27, 2022, with live broadcasts on the official LSL Twitch and Facebook channels. Official local language co-streams and Guild watch parties will be announced accordingly.

Playoffs

The 8 Qualifier Champions, along with the appointed 8 Castle Guardians head on to the Final Battle at the end of the season. With a bigger slice of the prize pool, this 16-player Playoffs will be the pinnacle test of skill and strategy for the strongest contenders of the season.

One player will be crowned Champion of LSL S4, and guaranteed a Castle for his guild in S5.

The Final Battle will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2022 with a live broadcast on the official LSL Twitch and Facebook channels as well as local language co-streams and guild watch parties.

Guild Castles Selection

In an effort to uphold utmost fairness and transparency in their selection process, LSL has developed an official criteria for Guild Castles Selection. While the S3 Champion had been guaranteed a castle, seven castles remain untaken.

Becoming a Guild Castle means:

• The Guild will have a qualifier tournament dedicated to their brand.
• Their appointed Castle Guardian is guaranteed a slot in the Playoffs.
• Prestige for the Guild being hailed as one of the most prominent in the scene.

Guilds interested to enter the selection must apply, and will be subject to scoring based on set criteria. The 7 top-scoring Guilds will be exclusively invited to participate in LSL S4 as Guild Castles.
