Low Carbon, the leading global renewable energy company, has teamed up with the world’s greatest Olympic sailors, Sir Ben Ainslie and Hannah Mills OBE, to launch the new Protect Our Future platform.

Protect Our Future is the Race for the Future charity partner to the Emirates Great Britain SailGP team. The climate change education platform will help to support over 3 million young people take action to protect nature, people and the planet using the inspiration of athletes.

Launching as the SailGP Season 3 final weekend gets underway in San Francisco, Low Carbon and Emirates GBR will convene its largest Protect Our Future session to date. This will include pupils from local schools, business leaders and climate experts coming together across San Francisco to promote new educational initiatives that deliver sustainable solutions.

As part of their collaboration with the Emirates GBR team to help them become the world’s most sustainable sports team, over the next three years, Low Carbon will work with Protect Our Future to produce world-class, climate-focussed education resources that inspire young people to tackle the real-world climate challenges our planet is facing.

Protect our Future is a programme of the 1851 Trust charity, named after the year of the first America’s Cup sailing race, which was launched by Sir Ben Ainslie and Sir Keith Mills during their British challenge for the 35th America’s Cup in 2014. HRH The Princess of Wales is a Royal Patron of the charity.
