The Chorus will be available at the end of August for $99.99

Multi-brand peripheral company Logitech, which has launched several audio accessories for VR headsets, has announced their new Logitech Chorus, a VR peripheral for the Meta Quest 2 that promises an improved audio experience.

Connecting the Chorus to your headset is pretty simple. The off-ear speaker slide right over the left and right arms of your Quest 2 headset. Each speaker is connected via a rubber strap.

The strap is just long enough that it sits nicely above the headset and doesn’t hang down like a typical headphone cable, so no need to worry about getting your hands caught up while running around the metaverse. 

Once you’ve connected the Chorus speakers to your headset, all you have to do is plug them into the Quest 2’s USB-C port and you’re good to go! The Chorus is fully integrated with USB-C passthrough, which means no external power source is required, but this comes at a price.

The Chorus speakers don’t work with a charging cable plugged into the USB-C port, which is kind of a drag if you’re like me and prefer to keep your headset plugged in as you play.

This is also an issue when using a Link cable to play PC VR games. Thankfully, the design makes it really easy for you to simply unplug the accessory from the Quest 2.

At 6.42 oz the Chorus is fairly lightweight and doesn’t throw off the balance of the Quest. You can physically move the earpieces back and forth to find that immersive audio sweet spot.

Similar to the Valve Index, these off-ear speakers hover close to your ears without actually touching. This allows you to hear if someone in the real-world needs you or if the timer on your air fryer is going off.

You’d think that having that little bit of space would muddle up your VR audio experience. However, Logitech says its solution is engineered in a way that will give owners the best of both worlds via crystal clear spatial audio.

If you need to mute your VR experience, the Chorus has this great feature that lets you deactivate the headphones by simply rotating the speakers to the back. Some early reviewers say that while moving their speakers to mute them, they are accidentally launching the Quest passthrough feature, which could prove annoying.

The Chorus comes is priced at $99.99. The Logitech Chorus will be available at the end of the month, but you can pre-order them now on the Logitech website and have them delivered directly to your home.
