Riot Games continues to add to its playlist options, especially with the newest game mode that was released for League of Legends, “Ultimate Spellbook.” Those who are wondering what the game mode really has, look no further as this game mode has players “theory-crafting” of what could be for their favorite champions.

Ultimate Spellbook was announced as a new game mode as part of the Sentinels of Light event that was released on July 8. As part of the presentation that was released on the company’s YouTube channel, the game mode serves to be an experiment in which a player’s champion can also have another character’s ultimate ability.
“In Ultimate Spellbook, you get to choose another champion’s (ultimate) from three different options. You’ll still get your ultimate, as usual, and your new (ultimate) will take the place of one your summoner’s spells, said Jessica “Safelocked” Nam, the game’s executive producer, in the presentation.
That said, the gameplay revolves around players that are able to choose from a selection of three random ultimates to replace one of their summoner spells in a blind pick style champion select.
After selecting the spell, there is no turning back, so choose wisely, or just make it work somehow as it will be the “Ulternate Summoner Spell” for the duration of the match. The fun of it comes with the endless opportunities to make for the best highlight plays imaginable. The result is a refreshing take on the current game that could also provide as thoughts for strategies when playing with others or simple hilarity that will definitely ensue. Unfortunately, players will not be able to double up on their abilities for their own champions.
The Ulternate spells have 35 ability haste and scales with 80% of its regular ratios. And even if playing a champion that may be based on attack damage or ability power, they will still scale with that champion’s items regardless of it.

Besides all of this, the game is played just any other match, this one just has an added twist.
