The value should be the pillar of the global economy, not policy.
Right now, we’re being controlled by people that just don’t want the system to collapse, so they are adding money to fix it. That’s not how the economy should work.
One day, unfortunately, we will realize that this policy wasn’t enough, in another massive fashion burst.
The Decentralized Finance (DeFi) is a growing industry built under the premise of having the Bitcoin as collateral for all innovative monetary products. Why? Because the people behind these companies believe in a system protected by a finite asset, not thin air.
We can discuss this concept, disagree, call ugly names to each other, but DeFi is here and will spread its roots against a system that begins to show signs of weakness.
There are no perfect systems, but we are far from the time when the market was free.
So, today, we have a system based on Fiat money, with astronomical debts that will never be paid, but on the other hand, a new system is being born that does not depend on governments or central banks.
This new system tries to be an alternative by solving the problem of money intermediation. A system where the collateralization of financial products by Bitcoin seeks its own strength. A system that creates a path to produce less turbulence than the one we have been seeing after 1913, the year the first central bank was designed. If you understand why central banks were created, you’ll know what I mean.
If this is the best solution, we don’t know. But Satoshi Nakamoto, after the 2008 Great Recession, wrote this in his 9-page white paper:
What is needed is an electronic payment system based on cryptographic proof instead of trust, allowing any two willing parties to transact directly with each other without the need for a trusted third party.- 나카 모토 사토시
We all want the same things. We want justice, equality, and opportunities.
And we all believe in different systems. That’s ok, you know why?
Whatever we believe in, it’s just a leap of faith. The markets will always speak for themselves. The better solution is the one we have now, but it’s not perfect.
By willing to construct new alternatives makes us, humans, part of something bigger, make us aware of the flaws and fix them. Will it be with cryptography? We don’t know. Will it be with governments and central banks? I doubt.
The reason why we are human has to do with our curiosity, irreverence, creativity, and capacity to innovate.
따라서, the future will be the product of what we are made of, in the hope of constantly evolving towards a better, fairer, more balanced, and innovative world.
