Former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s upcoming memoir contains new allegations of misconduct by President Donald Trump not linked to the Ukraine scandal, according to a new report.
A source familiar with the book “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir” told Axios that it goes beyond Ukraine and Trump’s impeachment.
The source, who spoke to Axios anonymously, did not give specifics. He said only that it contains allegations of “Trump misconduct with other countries.”
Bolton, a known foreign policy and national security hawk, was hired by Trump in 2018 after his combative appearances on Fox News attracted the president’s attention.
He left the job in 2019 amid a deepening rift with the president. The White House has sought to stall publication of the memoir, claiming it contains classified information.
According to the testimony of several congressional witnesses, Bolton was present for many of the key episodes in the chain of events that led to Trump becoming only the third president in US history to be impeached in December 2019.

The president was acquitted after a trial in the Republican-majority Senate. He denied tying military aid to the Biden probe.
It is known that in his book Bolton says that the aid was held back to pressure to Ukraine to announce a Biden probe.
At the time of the House probe and Senate trial, Bolton was criticised by Democrats for not publicly testifying about Trump’s conduct towards Ukraine.
Critics claimed that he kept quiet in order to maximise interest in his book. The publication, due for June 23, is said to have the White House worried.
Axios noted that Bolton was a prolific taker of notes, who took the records with him when he left.
