Jaxson Dart Strengths
Dart is a solid build and athlete for the position. He stands at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, which is solid for the position. His size helps him, as he was used on designed runs a lot during college. He has good mobility and uses it well to make plays out of structure. When creating plays out of structure, he does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield and only running when necessary.
His accuracy to the short and intermediate areas of the field is impressive. Dart plays with good timing and can put the ball on the money to give the receivers a chance to run after the catch. He gets the ball out quickly, which increases the chances for a big play.
He doesn’t have the biggest arm, but has above average arm strength. Dart is able to push the ball downfield if necessary. He can also fit the ball into tight windows in the short and intermediate areas of the field. When asked, he can make throws outside the numbers. He can get decent zip on his passes.
Jaxson Dart Weaknesses
Dart plays in an offensive system that has a lot of manufactured production. There are a lot of times when Dart will get the ball out quickly to his first read. He can read the whole field, but wasn’t asked to do it as much as other prospects.
While he has accuracy to the short and intermediate areas of the field, Dart has inconsistent deep ball accuracy. He can leave big plays on the field, when he can’t hit open receivers deep. Dart is more comfortable attacking shorter throws, but could really stretch defenses out if he improved his ability to make plays down the field.
He could anticipate a little more often. Dart could throw to a spot for receivers, but sometimes needs to see things before he throws the ball. Playing in a different offense can help him have more opportunities to play with anticipation. This is an area that makes Dart more of a developmental quarterback and he’ll need reps to improve.
