Gli ultimi quattro jet AMX italiani, pronti ad unirsi al futuro "Museo Volante", raggiungono la destinazione finale del pensionamento

Il recente ritiro degli ultimi quattro velivoli AMX operativi da Istrana segna la conclusione dei loro 35 anni di servizio con l'Aeronautica Militare italiana. Questi velivoli entrano a far parte della storica collezione volante dell'aeroporto di Piacenza.

L'11 aprile 2024 sono partiti da Istrana gli ultimi quattro velivoli AMX ACOL operativi, compreso il monoposto in livrea speciale per celebrare il Phase Out del tipo, pilotato dal Col. Emanuele Chiadroni, comandante del 51° Stormo. AB per la Base Aerea di Piacenza, dove furono ufficialmente ritirati e presi in carico dal locale distaccamento aeroportuale.

Lo sbarco a Piacenza, segnò la fine del servizio operativo dell'AMX Ghibli (soprannominato ufficiosamente “Topone”) dopo 35 anni di servizio.

A unico formatore rimane in servizio con l'RSV (Reparto Sperimentale Volo) dell'Aeronautica Militare Italiana, presso la Base Aerea di Pratica di Mare: volerà almeno fino al prossimo autunno; poi, dovrebbe essere ritirato dall'uso e trasformato in cancello guardiano (o essere assegnato al Museo ItAF).

I quattro aerei sono decollati in questo ordine: MM7162/51-34, MM7197/51-46, MM55044/51-82, MM55043/51-81.

Dopo la partenza, il quartetto ha effettuato un ultimo sorvolo sulla base prima di dirigersi a ovest verso Piacenza, inseguito da un Eurofighter.

Sulla strada per Piacenza la “formazione Grappa” si è riunita con le Frecce Tricolori e un C-130J (con la rampa aperta per scattare alcune fotografie prima dello storico ultimo atterraggio).

Piacenza

Dopo aver accolto il Elicotteri HH-212 di Grazzanise recentemente andato in pensione dopo oltre 40 anni di servizio, Piacenza depositerà i quattro AMX in pensione.

Rivolgendosi alle istituzioni locali, alle imprese, ai professionisti e ai rappresentanti dei media durante la cerimonia di benvenuto, il comandante della base, T. Col. Salvatore Occini, ha presentato i progetti attuali e futuri dell'aerodromo.

Occini ha sottolineato il passaggio della base dai compiti esclusivamente operativi al restauro e alla conservazione degli aerei storici. In particolare, a Fiat G-91, restaurato con una speciale livrea delle Frecce, fu rimesso in volo con successo per il Spettacolo aereo del centenario dell'aeronautica militare nel giugno 2023, grazie alla competenza del personale della base e alla collaborazione con tecnici civili specializzati.

Il Comandante della 1ª Regione Aerea Generale Vestito ha sottolineato l'importanza della base di Piacenza all'interno dell'Aeronautica Militare, sottolineandone la prontezza operativa dimostrata dall'arrivo degli AMX. Ha sottolineato l'importanza strategica della base per varie attività, tra cui schieramenti operativi, formazione, esercitazioni e ricerca nei settori aeronautico e automobilistico, sfruttando le sinergie esistenti con partner istituzionali, universitari e industriali.

Il Museo Volante

Guardando al futuro, le Forze Armate stanno esplorando progetti per trasformare l'aeroporto militare di Piacenza in un Museo del Volo, consentendo agli appassionati e agli storici dell'aviazione di apprezzare, anche testimoniandoli in volo, questi beni che hanno avuto un ruolo fondamentale nella storia centenaria delle Forze Armate.

Come verranno manutenuti questi velivoli e da chi, quali piloti avranno le qualifiche per pilotarli e a quale costo, sono solo alcune delle domande a cui bisognerà rispondere prima che un progetto così ambizioso possa essere realizzato.
