Is Age of Empires 4 cross platform?
With the previous iteration in the beloved real-time strategy series — Age of Empires III — having came out in October 2005, fans had waited 15 years for its latest installment to release. Here’s the breakdown of whether or not Age of Empires IV is cross-platform.

Age of Empires IV does in fact support cross-platform multiplayer between those using their Xbox accounts on their PC and those on Steam.
The RTS game just recently released for PC (via Microsoft Store and Steam) on Oct. 28, 2021. From day one, it has also been included with Xbox Game Pass for PC and Ultimate.
Spearheaded by the efforts of developer Relic Entertainment and publisher Xbox Game Studios, Age of Empires IV looks to have one of the most beloved real-time strategy series return to glory, putting players once again at the center of epic historical battles that shaped the world.
Featuring both “familiar” and “innovative” new ways for players to expand their empire in vast landscapes with 4K visual fidelity, Age of Empires IV aims to evolve the real-time strategy series to a new generation.
Players are said to be able to play how they want with user-generated content tools for custom games, PvP and PvE multiplayer modes up to seven other players, and a signature Campaign story mode.
