Date:

Indian multinational tech company, Infosys, is planning to invest Rs 2,500 crore to expand its facility in Pocharam, Telangana. The campus is expected to provide job opportunities to almost 20,000 techies.

The facility directly employs over 22,000 people and once it expands it will be able to accommodate at least 19,000 more. In addition, the facility will be able to employ people indirectly too.

Once the expansion happens, the facility, which is spread over more than 117 acres, will take the built-up area to 7.74 lakh sqm. While the campus already has six high-rise buildings, the expansion will add four more software development blocks, along with food courts, an auditorium as well as a multi-level car parking. The highest building will have about 15 floors.

Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed in three years’ time.

Only recently, the Company has been recognised as the global leader in terms of standards of ethical business practices, by Ethisphere Institute.

The Company has given a boost to its fresher hiring from 16,500 in FY21 to 24,000 in FY22. It is known for its quality training of fresh hires, who are taken on in large numbers.

The attrition rate at Infosys dipped to a record low of 7.8 per cent in the quarter ending September 2020. Even though it went up to 10 per cent in the last quarter, it was much less compared to the 20 per cent attrition rate it posted a few years back.
