IndiGo Airlines looking for engineering graduates

It is not just in the US that airlines are on a hiring spree. IndiGo is on the lookout for engineering graduates for the post of trainee. Freshers with a BTech in electrical, electronics, aeronautical or mechanical may apply.

Interested candidates should have scored above 60 per cent in class 10 and also in graduation.

The selected trainees will be expected to look after the repair management of aircraft components. They will also be working in the area of fleet management, maintenance planning, aircraft routing, warehouse and inventory management, as well as front line support.

Other responsibilities that the trainees may require to handle include planning and provisioning of spares, materials, tools, and equipment. They may also have to procure spares and ensure logistics support. Their support will be required in long-term aircraft maintenance planning including aircraft leasing, entry into service and so on.

The trainees will also get to work on insurance, budgeting, warranty, and cost control. They will get a chance to dabble in contract management, liaisoning, development of local and foreign vendors, special projects, studies and implementation of systems and procedures and so on.

With an existing fleet of about 275 aircraft, Indigo operates more than 1,400 flights a day, to over 70 domestic and 24 international destinations. This month, Indigo is looking to launch 12 new flights, improving connectivity between northern, eastern, northeastern, western and southern regions of the country.

Meanwhile, in the US, international travellers are being welcomed back. For over 18 months restrictions were imposed on travellers from 33 countries.
