These are the financiers who in one or more years since 2015 supported the MapBiomas Project, according to the project’s own portal, which also lists Carrefour, Marfrig and JBS among the supporting users.
But what is MapBiomas?
MapBiomas emerged from a seminar held in March 2015, based on the following question:
How to produce annual maps of land use and coverage in a significantly cheaper, faster and more updated way compared to existing methods and practices, in addition to recovering the history of recent decades?
Through technical cooperation with Google, using the Google Earth Engine platform, it began to annually map land cover and use in Brazil, in addition to monthly monitoring of the water surface, forest fires and deforestation.

But perhaps MapBiomas’ most interesting product are own maps and data on land use and coverage.
There is so much information – vegetation cover, secondary vegetation, pastures, deforestation, fires, mining, irrigation, water and even carbon in the soil (currently in beta version) – that the best thing to do is browse the portal itself.
