Stoney Creek has a second legal cannabis shop with the opening of The Hunny Pot across from Eastgate Square on June 13.
The 40 Centennial Pkwy. North store is the fifth location for the franchise, adding to three locations in Toronto and one in Burlington.
Spokesperson Cameron Brown said the 1,700-square foot store is open to customers but also offering to free delivery in Hamilton.
The shop, which hosts a grand opening from June 18 to 21, will have strict physical distancing measures to keep customers and staff safe, a press release said.
“We’re really excited to be coming into Hamilton,” Brown said, adding the store’s application received no objections during a 15-day commenting period earlier this year. “We’ve received a great response from the public so far.”
Tokyo Smoke, located by the liquor store in the Fortinos plaza at the corner of Upper Centennial Parkway and Rymal Road, is Stoney Creek’s other legal pot shop, opened in February.
But three others are either set to open or awaiting word on applications before the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
They include Sessions Cannabis, in the plaza at the southwest corner of Stone Church and Upper Mount Albion roads; Neku Cannabis at the Attic pizzeria in downtown Stoney Creek; and Mihi at the Winona Crossing Shopping Centre.
