How to get Better at Fortnite Battle Royale

Date:

ESTNN provides a helpful guide to improve your Fortnite gameplay.

Fortnite Battle Royale has come a long way since its beta release in 2017. The innovative building mechanic was merely a gimmick, and most players relied on crafty angles and gun skill to earn eliminations. Beyond that, the game looked completely different from what you see today.

Four years have passed since Fortnite first burst onto the scene as a culturally iconic Battle Royale subgenre entry. Nowadays, those who earned Victory Royales back in the day might not find the same success. That sentiment applies especially to anyone who has not touched Fortnite in several seasons.

Following the release of Tilted Towers, Fortnite is generating more clicks than usual. Those intrigued by the concept of this classic drop spot returning might lead some to give Battle Royale mode another shot. However, if we weren’t clear, Fortnite is not what it once was.

Today, ESTNN provides you with a guide to improving your game to help you overcome the lobby and help.

Practice Building & Editing

Who would have thought that two mechanics that made Fortnite stand out have become absolutely necessary to understand? Building and editing are foundational elements that you cannot ignore. While earning Victory Royales is possible without mastering these skills, it’s much more challenging.

Improving your building and editing will enhance your gameplay experience immensely. Those up to the task should head into Creative Mode to work on basic ramping techniques, window edits and building one-by-one boxes. It may take some time for you to apply these methods in-game, but it’s well worth the time investment.

Here are some Creative maps that will help you become a better builder and editor:

  • Crank Simulator Infinity: 0633-5010-2549
  • Raider’s Edit Practice Map #2: 1593-3986-3647
  • Raider’s Advance Edit Practice Map: 2458-9160-8933

 Aim Training

Aiming is another skill worth mastering that goes hand-in-hand with building and editing. Considering Fortnite is a third-person shooter, aiming is another crucial skill to improve. Fortnite utilizes a “Bloom” aiming system, where shots are generally less accurate and require a deeper understanding of each weapon.

Aim training is a helpful way to learn the ins and outs of the game’s different gun classes. Talented map creators have granted players the opportunity to practice at long, mid and close ranges, which should make in-game fights easier to comprehend.

Here are some helpful aim training maps:

  • Shride’s Aim Training Map: 7088-3496-5589
  • Console Aim Training Map: 0885-6466-2714
  • Ultimate Edit & Aim: 9368-1814-9691

 Learning the Meta

Some things haven’t changed in almost four years of Fortnite. For one, every season offers different locations, weapons and gameplay mechanics. A good example is the current season — Chapter 3 Season 1. This season introduced a sliding mechanic, Mythic Spider-Man Web-Shooters and an entirely new arsenal of locations and weapons to learn. Competitive Fortnite players often use the word “meta” to describe how the season plays from a tournament perspective.

Those ideals often leak into public matches, considering the high number of above-average players that play Solos, Duos, Trios or Squads. Understanding the best weapons, healing items and gadgets to carry will make defeating your opponents a touch easier.

Currently, the Stinger SMG is the best weapon in the game; that will undoubtedly change in the future. Keep up with the latest trends, and you’ll be fine. Remember, learning each location and finding one that suits you is also imperative as you can rely on it in the future.

Trial and Error is Critical

Listen, whether you’re new to Fortnite or returning after an extended hiatus, success doesn’t come without failure. You might find yourself in lobbies filled with bots, feeling like you’re the best player in the world. That feeling won’t last forever. Eventually, the game’s skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) system will catch up, and you’ll be playing against above-average players who can build, edit and shoot adequately.

Don’t be discouraged if an opponent sends you to the lobby. Fortnite is a fascinating game that requires effort to improve. Nothing feels better than outplaying another individual because it shows how hard work and persistence can pay off in the long run.

The tools and advice above should help you reach the skill ceiling sooner rather than later. It takes determination to become a decent Fortnite player. Unfortunately, aiming and shooting just isn’t enough anymore, but that’s part of the fun.
