How to download your Twitch clips, and everyone else’s too

Twitch lets players record, stream, and show off their skills to the world, but the streaming platform isn’t great at letting its users save their best clips. It’s almost been a year since the option to download Twitch clips suddenly disappeared, but there are ways around this removal that aren’t too hard pull off.

Here’s the easiest way for players to find and download Twitch clips they’ve taken and clips of their own streams quickly and easily. Can’t find your clips to begin with? Don’t worry, we’ve also got a step-by-step guide at the bottom of the page that will lead you straight to them.

How to download Twitch clips in 2021

There are a few solid options that let players download clips from Twitch. But since downloading a clip means players have to download it from a third-party site, and we like to stick to the options on the first page of a Google search.

Clipsey is the hot new Twitch downloader on the block. While its creators say they plan to introduce ads in the future to monetize the site, right now it’s a clean and easy way for users to download clips. Open the clip in one tab, copy and paste the link in the box, hit “download,” and you’re good to go.  We recommend the “right-click, save-as” method for saving the clip once Clipsey has pulled it from Twitch, but the download button works just as well.

Clipsey also has a Google Chrome extension for when players want to download their clips without ever leaving the page. Other sites such as clipr.xyz and windsya perform just as well, but with no ads and quick servers, Clipsey has our vote.

It’s been even harder to download Twitch clips recently, with the streaming giant switching up where user clips are stored all the time . But finding your Twitch clips doesn’t have to be hard. In fact, it’s pretty easy if you know where to look.

How to find your Twitch clips in Twitch’s new layout

Before you can download a Twitch clip, you’ve got to find it. Since Amazon bought Twitch, the service has changed in a ton of ways. While copyright strikes had streamers worried about DCMA, Twitch changed it’s interface too. The first big change was on a streamer’s page, where clips are now hidden on the “Home” page, which is confusingly different from where their stream is. Here is the page players are taken to when they click on summit1g’s stream from Twitch’s main menu.

The stream itself is in full view, but there’s no button for viewers to look up summit’s past streams or clips. Here’s how to find all of a streamer’s clips in one handy spot.

Step One: Click on the a streamer’s “badge”, usually called their logo, in the bottom left corner of their stream. For summit, that would be the 1G icon next to his name and stream title. Clicking this button will take viewers to the streamer’s “home” page. Here, the stream is partially hidden from view, but players should now be able to see some familiar options.

Step 2: With the home page expanded, the familiar “recent broadcasts” section will appear where players can then select “videos” from the navigation bar.

Step 3: There’s one more step to actually get to the clips page, and that’s to click on the “filter by” drop-down list and select “clips.”

If players want to sort clips by date or popularity, that’s done using the other drop-down list on the right hand side of the clip page. The process isn’t hard, but for some reason Amazon has decided that the further clips are away from the players, the better. Thankfully, finding your own clips is way faster.

How to find your own clips on Twitch

Finding your own clips on Twitch, both ones from your own streams and clips you’ve taken of other streams, is much easier. If you stream, odds are you already know about Twitch’s content section inside the platform’s Creator Dashboard. If you don’t, don’t panic. The Content section holds clips taken by a player and clips taken of their streams, and anyone can access it. There’s a handy shortcut players can take by clicking on their profile.

Step 1: Log in and click on your profile picture in the upper right corner of Twitch. From the dropdown menu, select “video producer.”

Step 2: That should bring players into the creators dashboard, where there will be a big list of menus on the left hand side of the screen. Since we clicked “video producer” in step one, the “content” menu should already have been opened. If you don’t see the list, click on the hamburger menu in the upper left corner to open it up.

Step 3: Click “clips”!

It gets confusing fast, but once you’ve done it once or twice it becomes easier. Players can switch between clips other players have taken from their sessions or video clips they’ve taken themselves by clicking “clips I’ve created” and “clips of my channel” at the top of the page. As crazy as it sounds, players can also search their own clips using the search box as well.

We’re not sure why Twitch keeps making it harder for players to download their own content, but if you follow the steps above you should have them on your hard drive in no time.

Epic Games is expanding its reach by adding more PC apps to the Epic Games Launcher, the company announced today.

This means that users will be able to download and run various apps through the Epic Games Store, including the already available Spotify.

The newest additions to the platform’s app page include Itch.io, Brave, KenShape, Krita, and iHeartRadio. Here’s a brief description of each of them along with any limitations that have been listed by Epic.

  • Itch.io: DRM free, indie-focused game store where developers run a “pay what you want” pricing model for consumers.
  • Brave: Open-source browser that automatically blocks ads and website trackers while letting users send cryptocurrency contributions to content creators and websites they want to support.
  • KenShape: Software used to generate 3D models based on 2D pixel art drawn using various shapes, which is directly compatible with most game engines.
  • Krita: Digital painting app that’s used by millions to create illustrations, comics, animations, sketches, paintings, and more.
  • iHeartRadio: Free all-in-one digital music, podcasting, and livestreaming radio service that also offers subscriptions that give access to on-demand features.
    • Available only in North America.

Epic is also launching a Fortnite partnership with Spotify today at 7pm CT, where Fortnite Crew Members will receive three free months of Spotify service if they’re new Spotify premium subscribers.

More apps are going to be coming to the Epic Games Launcher in the future, including Epic’s face-to-face social network Houseparty and Discord.

When is the destruction of Verdansk Part 2 in Warzone? Activision kicked off Call of Duty: Warzone’s end with a big nuclear event. Although the game crashes made it difficult for players to fully enjoy the experience, what comes next is just a few short hours away.

The next phase of the event kicks off at 12 p.m. PST. For now, players have only been able to access Rebirth Island’s night mode. Part two of the event comes 24 hours after the nuke’s launch, which saw a missile launch from one of the silos around Verdansk. A mushroom cloud engulfed Stadium and Downtown, and the explosion immediately spread throughout the map.

Part two of the event kicks off in Rebirth, so you’ll need to hop into the night mode if you want to see this next step for yourself. There will be plenty of live content creators checking out the event live if you’re unable to make it.

What can we expect next? It’s sort of hard to anticipate what is to come, but it’s essentially confirmed that players will have access to a 1984 reskin of Verdansk. In the meantime, Season 3 is officially live, and there have been a lot of changes to popular weapons in Warzone.

Activision has released a brand new live-action trailer for Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3.

Titled “Squad up the World,” the trailer went live early on Thursday, April 22—marking the definitive start of Warzone’s Season 3. Its release marks a welcome return to live-action footage as fans haven’t seen a new trailer of this type since 2017. Squad up the World featured appearances by several notable celebrities and musicians, dipping in and out of “game” as they performed military-style feats to the prolific track “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC.

The trailer, itself, primarily focused on capturing the intensity experienced by players as they band together with friends to dominate Verdansk. Directed by Gibson Hazard—best known for his work on the music videos of Drake, Billie Eilish, and more—fans had a chance to see some of the biggest names in hip hop and gaming, alike, come together and showcase exactly what Warzone is capable of.

Names such as Saweetie, Swae, Young Thug, Michelle Viscusi, Mookie Betts, and even Nadeshot flashed across the screen firing well-known weapons, operating copters, and careening through the city streets in a high octane, action sequence reminiscent of in-game events.

In an attempt to bring that feeling home, the audience even got a chance to see them sitting behind screens, themselves, controllers in hand, and headsets secured reacting to the actions their “in-game” counterparts just performed.

Regardless of Season 3’s rocky start in the past 24 hours, long-time players are no doubt feeling a bit of nostalgia following its trailer release. Perhaps this is the turning point Activision needs to win its player base back and kick off the next segment of Warzone in style.

League players raise more than $7 million for charity with Elderwood Ornn fundraiser

After years of waiting, League of Legends fans finally got their hands on a second Ornn skin with Riot’s latest charity fundraiser, Elderwood Ornn, in December 2020. That skin, it turns out, raised more than $7 million for charity from the end of last year to early January, the developer revealed today.

The purple and bright blue skin, which cost 1,350 RP (or roughly $10), raised money for the Riot Games Social Impact Fund at Impact Assets, the developer’s charitable financial partner, beating Dawnbringer Karma’s $6 million charity record from the previous year.

“Thank you all so much for continuing to support highly impactful organizations around the world,” Riot said. “We hope you’ll join us again in this year’s charity fundraiser, so we can continue to build a better world together.”

The Social Impact Fund was created in 2019 as a “unique philanthropic venture” fund that allows Riot to make “direct investments” into a variety of “global organizations” aimed at “solving some of the world’s most pressing issues.”

Since establishing the project, the League community has raised over $13 million for charity, not including the many millions of dollars contributed for skins like Dark Star Cho’Gath in 2018 before the fund was created.

Altogether, that money has been donated to more than 25 different causes around the world.

“The Riot Games Social Impact Fund is an independent entity separate from Riot Games the developer and publisher,” Riot’s fundraiser page reads. “It is also structured in such a way that all funding must be used to pursue positive social impact.”
